- Duo Volatus at The Old Chapel, Calstock - Friday 5th February
Calstock Arts presents Duo Volatus, a dynamic new flute and classical guitar duo featuring Ruth Ballantyne and Alison Smith. Both are accomplished professional players and the programme will feature fiery Spanish and Latin American music, as well as Baroque and Classical pieces. Alison has played before at The Old Chapel, to great acclaim. The Old Chapel is a short walk from Calstock Station, with regular services to and from stations to Plymouth, on the Tamar Valley Line.

- 'Landscapes of history: the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site'- Monday 15th February
Pioneering mining technology in Cornwall and Wst Devon had a fundamental influence on the industrial revolution in Britain and worldwide. Ainsley Cocks will discuss the World Heritage Site, including the impact of mining within Tavistock and on the surrounding landscape.

- Food & Drink Festival - Wednesday 17th February
Buckland Abbey (National Trust) will be hosting this free Food & Drink Festival with a wide variety of produce available to taste and buy, including home made breads, cakes, pastries and chocolates. Also meats, juices, ciders, wine and beer. The Festival will cater for all the family with cookery demonstrations by top local chefs. Face painting and other entertainment for children with free access to the Abbey's grounds and trails.

- Guided walk -Tavistock Abbey: medieval remains in the townscape - Friday 19th February
This guided walk with archaeologist Stuart Blaylock traces the extent and survival of medieval building in the later Town, giving a sense of the original Abbey layout. Starting and ending at Tavistock library, the walk finishes at midday with a 30 minute question and answer session with Stuart Blaylock. Refreshments will be available and there willb be medieval artefacts to look at and handle. Tickets available from Tavistock Library.

- Hedge-Laying Course - Saturday 20th February
An enthusiastic local group has set up a wildlife area on the recreation field and the hedge now requires laying. Local hedge expert Norman Gay will lead a course for up to 10 people to learn while laying the hedge. The day will run from 10am - 4pm. Participants will need to wear suitable warm and waterproof clothing including stout boots and gloves. Bring a packed lunch and drinks.

- Guitarras del Fuego at The Old Chapel, Calstock - Sunday 21st February
Calstock Arts presents Guitarras del Fuego, three renowned guitarists coming together to play a fiery combination of Latin and Spanish rhythms and melodies. Their set will be a mix of latin, rumba, traditional, contemporary, flamenco and Nuevo flamenco, paying tribute to artists such as The Gypsy Kings, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Strunz and Farah. During the Tamar Trail Festival 2009, the organisers held an event with 24 people, demonstrating various recipes including Pumpkin Soup, Chesnut and Roasted Vegetable Pie and Salmon Rillette - and everyone got to eat the finished results.

Mud and Sweat Mountain Bike event - Sunday 28th March
This event is open to solos, pairs and families and follows a 'score' format. Participants will be given a pre-marked waterproof map, with all the checkpoints marked on it, they must then navigate their way around as many of the checkpoints as possible within a time limit. Mud and Sweat provide maps, safety and event support and the electronic timing equipment. All you need to compete is a working bike, helmet, compass and sense of fun!
