Your special place to stay in the Tamar Valley
Mining Heritage
The Tamar Valley was the biggest copper mining area in Europe in the 1800s. Today the heritage of that era is still seen in the landscape, the chimneys, the weirs and quays along the river. |

Morwellham Quay Museum Morwellham is now one of the main information centres for the World Heritage site for mining history. It offers a great day out and a chance to experience life in Victorian times. You can wear Victorian dress, attend school, travel into the William and Charlotte mine by train. Watch a barrel maker or a blacksmith at work. Visit the farm and heavy horses. Step aboard the Garlandstone – the last ship to be built on the river.
